Meta Hires Top OpenAI Scientist to Lead AI Superintelligence Labs

Shenjia Zhao, a former senior scientist at OpenAI and one of the key contributors to ChatGPT, has joined Meta as Chief Scientist at the newly formed Meta Superintelligence Labs. According to Business Insider, Zhao, who played a major role in developing GPT-4 and other data-driven projects at OpenAI, will work closely with Zuckerberg and Alexandr Wang, CEO of Scale AI and Meta’s new Chief AI Officer. But Meta didn’t stop there. The company also brought in three additional researchers who previously helped establish OpenAI’s Zurich office and have prior experience at Google DeepMind.
